A NETWORK FOR THE SUPPORT OF

CLASSICAL BAPTISM  AND THE CHRISTIAN FAITH WAS FOUNDED

IN GOTHENBURG SWEDEN 14TH DECEMBER 2009

The network was founded by a group of some 20 leaders and pastors belonging to the Swedish Baptist Union (BUS). The purpose of the network is providing a forum for more evangelical discussions between Baptist Churches belonging to the Swedish Baptist Union, than is presently available on the Swedish Baptist Website and other channels.

It is important to notice that the network is not an organisation, and we are all members or affiliated by membership of our local Churches to the Swedish Baptist Union (BUS)/Svenska Baptist Samfund (SB).

 

THE REASON FOR THE NETWORK:

The immediate reason for the formation of the network is the untenable situation that has gradually developed with the Swedish Baptist Unions handling of the Gospel and the practical consequence of this in public statements and practices. The present Swedish Baptist Union appears to have seriously departed from the historical and theological foundation on which the early Baptist movement in Sweden was based.

  

The Network for Classical Baptism and Christian Faith wish to declare:

  • Faithfulness toward the Gospel and the calling of Christ. 
  • The truth based on the authority of the words of the Bible, and the long traditions of the teachings of the Christian Churches. 
  • Preaching from the truths and values of the Classical Baptist revival movement. 
  • A presentation of the Gospel that does not try to be politically correct. 
  • A presentation of the Gospel that speaks clearly of sin, the need for salvation and deliverance from sin. 
  • An openness for the power of God through his Holy Spirit. 
  • A sound theology and teaching regarding the different issues of modern day lifestyles in all areas of our personal lives.

Founded on the 14th December 2009, the Network has now to date: 80 persons belonging to 40 Baptist or other Churches in different parts of Sweden. Some 30 members are pastors, missionaries and leaders in their Churches in 2018.
